This is a real on-site study in order to deliver sustainable affordable, zero carbon house project at the location where it was known as industrial field.
The aim of this report is to design and illustrate sustainable, zero carbon housing development through using Passive House Principles and related design solutions for the Wardmill Industrial Estate, Arbroath.
For this reason, the history of local material and construction types are investigated. Then, it follows with the highlight of current policy in this region in terms of sustainable housing standards. The great examples of housing projects across Europe are another topic of this study in order to show what sustainable solutions must be considered to achieve similar success story as examplary projects did. Furthermore, complete site design, sustainable principles and possible renewable energy adaptations are identified with its potentials respectivelly.
